Our group plays an active role in several Cooperative Research Centres and research hubs. Members of the group contribute to the Soil CRC (https://soilcrc.com.au/), where we work on soil health indicators, organic-based fertilisers, compaction and drought resilience in Australian farming systems. We also have a leading role in the Solving Plastic Waste CRC (https://solvingplasticwastecrc.com/), with Distinguished Professor Chengrong Chen serving as Research Director, guiding research on plastic and microplastic pollution, waste reduction and circular economy pathways.
Within Griffith University, we are closely linked to centres such as the Australian Rivers Institute and the 4R Waste Hub. These centres provide multidisciplinary environments where soil scientists, ecologists, engineers, social scientists and economists can work together on shared problems, from catchment management to waste transformation. Being embedded in CRCs and centres allows us to translate fundamental biogeochemistry into tangible outcomes for industry, government and communities.
